Most mods available for Minecraft add new content to the game and change the look and feel of game play. A few others are larger expansions to the game, for instance the Aether Mod, which inserts considerable new content (items, quests). There are other mods that remove certain content to present simpler and more precise gaming experience to the player. If you think that animals are scarce in your Minecraft world, there is the mo’ creature mod that allows you to add animals you can hunt. On the other hand, if you are a nature lover, you can add more green trees using tree mods. Although Minecraft lets you arm yourself against your enemies, if you are bored with the limited choice of weapons that the game offers, you can use one of several different mods to add more weapons to your armory.

There are also various Minecraft vehicle mods available, which enable you to drive around in all sorts of different vehicles like cars, plans, boats and even WWII tanks. For instance, applying the Car Mod will add drivable minecarts to the game which do not require rails. This gives the player the option to move the carts all around their created world. You can drive these cars one block at a time. The Car Mod is available for download here. Flan’s vehicle mod adds a number of vehicles to the game. It is really fun and totally worth installing. Planes and WW2 style vehicles are included in Flan’s vehicle mod for Minecraft.

No more getting tired or bored of the game because you are just walking around in Minecraft, this mod gives you the ability to add some excitement and enjoyment to your Minecraft experience. You can add new cars, planes and trains using the mods below. Recently a popular vehicle mod added Panzer Tanks to Minecraft. If previously you were unable to scale the steep inclines of hills, you can easily drive uphill using these mods. You can easily make cars drivable even underwater with these vehicle mods. Up until now most Minecraft vehicle Mods have not included the ability to move cars in reverse, but many of them now have that functionality. You can find instructions for installing them easily along with the crafting recipes and controls below.

Instructions:
Download car mod here (this is a direct download link, it might look like an AdFly link, but it isn’t)
Go to start, search %appdata%
Click Roaming
Download ModLoader
Go to .minecraft > bin
Use 7zip or winrar to open Minecraft.jar
Delete the META-INF folder
Put the ModLoader files in Minecraft.jar
Run Minecraft and then go back to Minecraft.jar
Put the car mod zip into the mods folder
You’re done! Run Minecraft and enjoy!

Controls:
w: forward
a: left
d: right
c: open inventory
shift: brake
place coal or charcoal in the cars inventory to fuel.
you can put thing other then coal in the inventory.

Download Trains and Zeppelin Mod

This mod adds new carts models, 3 new steam locomotive, 3 diesel locomotives, an electric Tram, two electric locomotives, a Tender, a Tracks builder, a work cart and a zeppelin. Full instructions and crafting recipes can be found here.

Instructions:
Back up your saves and Minecraft.jar
Start with a new Minecraft.jar.
Open start > run > type in %appdata% > .minecraft > bins >
Open Minecraft.jar using winrar or 7zip.
Download and install Modloader, test Minecraft make sure it doesn’t go black. Drag all the contents of ModLoader into Minecraft.jar once it is opened by winrar or 7zip.
If you are not running Minecraft 1.2.5, download and install Flan’s ModLoaderMp also. Do the same as you did with ModLoader. ModLoaderMP is not needed/supported for version 1.2.5.
Download recommended version of Minecraft Forge do the same thing as you did for ModLoader.
Audiomod is optional.
Download Trains and Zeppelin Mod for Minecraft 1.2.5 (only works for single player). See thread on Minecraft Forums for earlier versions. Places all the files into Minecraft.jar
Delete META-INF inside Minecraft.jar.
Close Minecraft.jar
Optional: the content of the “resource files” goes into the resources/mod folder
Optional: Download and install Industrial Craft 2 as my mod is now compatible with it.
There is no more TrainConfig.txt to add, it’s created automatically.
Done!

Flan’s Mod – Plans and WWII Vehicles

Instructions:
Install ModLoader, ModLoaderMp, TurboModelThingy, Minecraft Forge (link above) and PlayerAPI in this order.
Download Flan’s Mod for Minecraft
Go to start and search for “%appdata%”
Click Roaming > .Minecraft > Bin
Open Minecaft.jar using 7zip or winrar
Delete META-INF
Place the downloaded .zip file in /.minecraft/mods/ or in the Bin folder

Controls:
W : Accelerate
S : Decelerate / Go backwards
A : Turn left
D : Turn right
Left Ctrl : Shoot machine guns
V : Drop bomb / fire shell
Space : Pitch up (Planes only)
Left Shift : Pitch down (Planes only)
C : Switch control modes (planes only)

The biggest part of the game is going out and mining blocks that can be used in the construction, or the crafting process. In order to create these architectural masterpieces, players must find different materials in the world. Finding a particular ore or resource can be hard at times due to the random nature of each world. It’s easy to become frustrated when looking for gold, coal, obsidian, or any of the other materials that can be mined. Many players end up wandering around aimlessly, desperately trying to find that one block that is required to help them finish their building project. That is where the Minecraft X-Ray mod comes in, and by installing this simple little addition, you will have no problem finding exactly what you need.

The first solution to the resource finding challenge was the X-ray texture pack which allowed players to see exposed blocks when they viewed the scene from overhead, but that didn’t really address the problem of being able to find those much needed blocks of materials. The X-ray mod for Minecraft took that one step further by not only showing the exposed blocks, but also allowing players to see exactly what was inside those blocks. That has helped to greatly speed up gameplay, and while some might feel it takes some of the adventure out of the game, it has definitely helped speed up the crafting process, which is why most people play Minecraft in the first place.

The good news for Minecraft players is that this particular X-ray mod can be found for download at a ton of different places online. The installation is incredibly easy, although you will not need modloader in order to install it. Once it is up and running you will be able to find and mine all the blocks you need for your next big creation. These types of mods further demonstrate just how popular Minecraft has become. It probably took a ton of hard work for the developer to get this mod to work correctly, and the fact that it is completely free tells you that it is created by someone who has a passion for the game.

Note: This mod currently changes Minecraft’s *.class files making it not compatible with some other mods.
